My Stress Reliever

Stress.

Food.

If the stress is too much, let the food relieve it.

Yeah, food is my top companion when I can’t bear the pressure anymore. Today’s feast is the spicy chicken joy from Jollibee though the only spicy part of it is the outer layer (mostly skin and exposed meat).

It is quite a simple kid meal but enjoy it always.

And yes, I am a foodie.

Home Cooked Meal - The Best!

Weekend at home is something I always look forward at the start of each week. One reason is cooked meals gives the most satisfaction to my always hungry tummy. Guess this is the tragedy of working in the city, away from the secured place, plus it is hard to find a perfect meal to fill my extra cravings.

Excited as I volunteered to cook this week! Though I’ve cooked bulgogi before but the feeling is still the same since I haven’t perfected the menu yet (or maybe I just like it a bit spicy than folks at home). To add difference from the usual, I took a short stop at Libertad to buy fresh veggies to be added. Also I make it saucier as we like sarsa to be added in the hot rice while eating.

And to make the rice from yesterday’s cooking not to go wasted; I cooked sinangag or fried rice. Rather than the usual garlic, I added some peas, carrots, hotdog then some oyster sauce on it. In the end, it looks like a Hong Kong styled fried rice I’ve tasted before.

My cousin cooked some chicken adobo for my kiddo who loves chicken a lot. Happy to see some chicken in the table as it makes the table really different. We don’t serve like pork the most since my dad doesn’t like eating it thus it is seen only during fiesta or bought from Andoks and Jollibee.

Fried pork is another hit ever since I was kid particularly if it is crispy. It is really yummy! This is something I inherited from my lolo on my mom's side. I don’t mind if it’s simply pork chunks marinated with calamnsi and soy sauce, pork chop or as lumpia, as long as it is fried and coffee on the side.

Don’t hate me but fats are one thing I like. Guess it is something Filipinos like in their meal and at all form – bulalo, lechon, grilled or inihaw. Happy feast! for us
